Gerard J. Cerza, Sr., 89, passed away on Thursday, January, 21, 2016 in West Orange, NJ. Born in San Martino, Italy, Gerard was a long time resident of West Orange. He worked as an electrician for Worthington Corporation for many years. Gerard was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.
Gerard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rose, as well as his brother Martin. He is survived by his loving children Joanne Weisman and her husband Michael and Gerard and his wife Alison. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Rachel Diaco and her husband Joe, Matthew Weisman and Samantha Weisman. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren Julianna, Joseph, and Kayla, as well as his sister Louise Guarente.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 25 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, NJ. Funeral mass will be offered at Our Lady of Sorrows Church 217 Prospect Street, South Orange, NJ on Tuesday, January 26 at 11 AM with interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Orange.
