He is survived by his wife Carolyn (Straus), Sons Brian Simons and Keith Simons, Daughter Kerri (Paul) McDonough, Stu Straus and Lisa (David) Rose. Grandchildren Dr. Christopher (Alicia) Simons, Kevin Simons, Sean Simons, Chad Simons, Rachel Simons, Drew McDonough, Alyson (Sean) Clayton, Jamie
Straus, Rylee Rose and Alani Rose, Great-granddaughter Hazel Jeanne Simons and brother Joseph ( Sandy) Simons He was predeceased by his parents and wife Jeanne Simons.
Jerry served in the US Navy and the Marines during the Occupation of Japan and the Korean Conflict for which he received a Purple Heart. He was a Detective for the Essex County Prosecutor Office and the FBI
Strike force during his employment.
There will be a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, Dec. 28 from 2- 6 PM at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ. Cremation will be private.
