
Harry Hagopian was born in Sherman, NY on August 5, 1929 to Haig and Arshalous Hagopian. He had an older sister, Anne, and a younger brother, John (all of whom are deceased). He grew up on his Fathers farm and at age 12, the family moved to Roselle Park, NJ, where his interest in automobiles began. He graduated Roselle Park HS then joined the National Guard and Army Reserve serving Multiple tours, taking him throughout Europe. Upon returning, he took a position at General Motors, got a degree from Lincoln Technical School, and started an auto repair business in the basement of his home. He then opened two locations - One in Roselle and one in Linden, NJ. Thereafter, he met his Future wife, Arpine Mouradian, at a neighbors house. She was visiting her aunt from Lebanon. Within a few months they were married and then had a daughter, Debbie. During the years of starting a business and family, the couple got very involved with St. Mary’s Armenian Church, which they attended weekly, as well as the church’s functions. When the war in Lebanon started, Arpine wished to bring her family over. Harry sponsored them and brought them all, supporting them financially until were on their feet. An avid animal lover, Harry and his family rescued three dogs, two of whom will be buried with him. Debbie Then married Alan Meyers and they had two children together, Victoria and Daniel, and a son Douglas From a previous marriage. After living for 50 years in Roselle, he and Arpine moved to Stroud Township, PA where he lived during his retirement, having dinner with friends, drinking wine with his wife, playing cards every night, taking walks in the park with his dogs and family, and gardening which he was locally known for while living in Roselle. He has left behind his wife Arpine, daughter Debbie Meyers, son in law Alan, grandchildren Victoria and Daniel, and countless nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all.
