Joan R. Fix

Joan R. Fix, 67, of Cedar Grove, formerly of West Orange, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Waterview Care Center, Cedar Grove. Her family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Saturday, 10 untill 11 AM at which time a service celebrating her life will be offered. The committal service will follow at Pleasantdale Cemetery, West Orange.

Joan was born in Orange and had lived many years in West Orange and East Orange. She retired as a clerical assistant for the Occupational Center of Essex County for over 20 years. Active member of the Pleasantdale Presbyterian Church, West Orange, she was a member of its choir and played the piano and xylophone.

Surviving is her devoted brother Edward Fix and wife Sharon, her loving niece, Patricia Sexton and husband Mark, nephew Robert Fix and wife Tracy and also survived by five great nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Pleasantdale Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 471 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ 07052, would be greatly appreciated.
