John Christopher Coyne

John Christopher Coyne, 87, passed away on August 7, 2016. His family will receive relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Wednesday, 2-8 PM. The Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Philomena’s Church, 386 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, on Thursday at 10 AM followed by the committal service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

John was born in Ahalative, Creggs, County Gallaway, Ireland, immigrated to the U.S. in June, 1956 and had lived over 50 years in Livingston, NJ. He was a plasterer but retired from Local #68 of the Operating Engineers Union. John was also an active member of St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston. Above all, John was very proud of his Irish heritage and instilled the same in his children, grandchildren and all that knew him.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Eileen (Higgins), he is survived by his devoted children Michael J. and wife Aine, Thomas J. and wife Mary, Eileen M. Halligan and husband Timothy, Lisa Ann Brady and husband Michael and his loving grandchildren Kelly, John, Megan, Maisy and Gavin Coyne and Caitlin and Deirdre Brady; John is also survived by his siblings Bridie and Tommie and many nieces and nephews in Ireland.
