Leonardo Salese

Leonardo Salese, 89, passed away at his residence in West Orange on Saturday, September 26, 2015. His family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Tuesday, 4-8 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 103 S. Center St., Orange, on Wednesday at 10:30 AM followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Born in Italy, he and his beloved wife Lucia brought their young family to the United States settling in Orange in November, 1957 and moving to West Orange in 1964. Leonardo began his own business, Alberona Construction and Landscaping in 1962 building many homes in the Livingston area until his retirement in 1989. He and his wife were devoted parishioners at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Orange where Leonardo was also a member of the Alberonese Social Club. Leonardo also had a great passion for singing and dancing to Italian music.

Besides his beloved wife Lucia (Marucci) he is survived by his devoted children, Joseph Salese, M.D. and wife Maria, Nicola Salese and wife Nicholina, Rosa Saraceno and husband Libero, M.D.; his loving grandchildren, Leonardo Salese, M.D. and wife Catherine A., Esq., Lucia Boxer and husband Jason, Esq., Dr. Lea Mirabile and husband Joseph, Esq., Leonardo Salese and wife Gabriella, Nicola Salese, Jr., Antonio Salese and wife Michelle, Jessica M. Carroll, Esq and husband Brendan W., Esq. and Leonardo Saraceno, M.D. and wife Devin B. Eckstein, D.O. Leonardo is also survived by his cherished great grandchildren, Carter Joseph Salese, Garrett Robert Salese, Robert Joseph Mirabile, Angelina Lucia Salese, Gaetano Leonardo Salese and Castiel Salese.
