Mary Doris Mulcahy

Mary Doris Mulcahy, 91, surrounded by her family, entered into the arms of her loving Lord with joy and peace on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. She was a long time resident of Short Hills. She exemplified her faith through her love, kindness, and prayers for her family, neighbors, and friends. We will miss her dearly but we do not mourn as those without hope. For Doris knew that to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph Fenton Mulcahy and is survived by her eight children: Joseph, Jr. (Beverly), Mary Beth McNeil (Art), Mary Suzanne Ketter, Mary Patrice Brown (Kevin), Mary Anne Hardiman (Tom), Michael, (Dale), Mary Therese Anderson (Kevin), Mary Ellen Kelly (Tom), 27 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and her dear sister Mary Lorraine Speckhart (Bernie), sisters-in-law, Joan Stecher, Mary Jane Mulcahy and Joan Schnabel (Jim) and many nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, by Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home on Saturday, May 14th. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at Long Hill Chapel in Chatham at 10:15AM, with reception immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ name may be made to LIFE Outreach International of Fort Worth, TX or Sanctuary of Hope, John Hagee Ministries, San Antonio, TX.
