

Michael Kevin Tracey Sr. 58, of Livingston, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, July 6th, in North Carolina. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he lived most of his life in Livingston, New Jersey. The past 10 years of his life were spent at his home in North Carolina.
Michael was the type of man that you could not ignore. His larger than life personality could put a smile on anyone’s face. He spent most of his free time, hunting, fishing, and relaxing by the water. Michael was an incredibly hardworking and skilled man. He worked as a Master Welder for most of his life as well as a mechanic that worked on cars, heavy equipment, trucks etc. Michael was extremely creative and if he had an idea in his mind he would build it. He was dedicated to his work and always strived to be the best of the best. Anybody who knows him would agree.
Michael was the proud father and grandfather of his two children, Michael Kevin Tracey Jr., of Roseland, NJ, and Megan Tracey, her husband Ernesto Brid and their child Ethan, of North Plainfield, NJ. He would do anything for his children and grandchild. He is also survived by his wife Cheryl Tracey, of Livingston, NJ; his two brothers James Tracey, of Roseland, NJ, and Thomas Tracey, of Livingston, NJ; his beloved dog, Bear; as well as his many cousins, nieces, nephews and other friends. He is predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Thomas Tracey.
His children describe him as their hero, the person who gave them the strength and loyalty that they possess today. His son, describes Michael as his best friend. His daughter remembers her father as her first love, and her number one supporter. Michael spoke of his family in the highest regard, to anyone who would listen. He made sure that his children knew how much he loved them. He was an extremely loving and passionate man, who is impossible to forget.
Memorial Services for Michael Tracey are on Friday, July 15 at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 4-8 pm. 145 E Mt. Pleasant Ave, Livingston NJ, 07039. Friends are welcome to join the family after at the Livingston Elks Lodge at 19 W Mt. Pleasant Ave, Livingston NJ, 07039.
Saturday, July 16, 10am Mass at St. Raphael's Church, 346 E Mt. Pleasant Ave, Livingston NJ, 07039. Burial with be at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
