Neil P. Alexander, 57, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Overlook Hospital in Summit. His family will receive relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Friday, March 14, 4-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be offered at St. Raphael’s Church, 346 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, followed by the committal service at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit, NJ.
Born in Orange and raised in Livingston, Neil lived in New Providence for the past 26 years. Receiving his BA degree from Seton Hall University, he was the Sourcing Manager for the Verizon Account at Cushman and Wakefield, a property management company. Previously, he was employed by Yeshiva University and Rutgers University in a similar capacity.
Neil is survived by his beloved wife Joyce (Robinson), his devoted children Sarah and Patrick, his loving mother Anne (Devlin) and dear siblings Annemarie Alexander, Mark Alexander and his wife Sue, and Patricia Krasnodebski and her husband Wes. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gabe and Joan Allocco, and three nieces, Kim Alexander, Karin Allocco and Julie Allocco.
Neil’s greatest love was his family, and he took tremendous joy in supporting his children’s interests. He attended every school orchestral concert to see his daughter play the violin. And he took great pride in his son’s tenure with the New Providence Marching Band—attending competitions and chaperoning events.
He was also a life-long New York Giants and Yankees fan.
The world has lost a good and kind man.
