

Nora B. Dunmyer(nee Gallagher) of Fanwood, NJ, formerly of Livingston, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday October 1, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Philomena’s Church 386 South Livingston Avenue Livingston, NJ on Friday October 5, 2012 at 10AM. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery East Hanover, NJ. The family will receive their friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue Livingston, NJ, on Thursday October 4, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Born in Ballintra, County Donegal, Ireland, Nora attended the Sisters of Mercy Grammar School and was a graduate of Dublin College. When she came to the United States she received her Master’s in Elementary Education from Hunter College in New York City. Nora taught in the Catholic School System for over 50 years, first teaching at St. Catherine of Genoa in Manhattan, St. Raphael’s in Livingston, NJ, our Lady of the Lake in Verona, NJ, and Sacred Heart in Bloomfield before her retirement. She also taught Irish Step Dancing for many years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph C. Dunmyer Jr. and her loving son Joseph C. Dunmyer III. Nora is survived by her devoted children Marianne and her husband Lawrence Makoski and Timothy P. and his wife Lisa Dunmyer, her loving grandchildren Joseph and Cara Makoski and her dear siblings Margaret McCafferty, Joan McCrea, Patty McCrea, Sr. Dolores Gallagher, Carmel Murphy and Frank Gallagher.
