

Richard was born on March 11, 1945, in Newark, NJ, to parents, Vito and Eleanor (Stolfi) Corcia. He continued his education, graduating from Carpentry School, becoming a Union Carpenter in 1966 for Essex County 1342/253. He worked directly for Van-Rad Contracting of Lyndhurst NJ, before retiring at age 59. A true perfectionist with an eye for detail, he could master any project.
Richard married his beautiful bride Anna, the love of his life, on April 29, 1967, they shared a marriage of pure love and devotion to each other. In 1969 they became loving parents to their daughter Renee. In 1993 they welcomed “the son they never had”, John to the family and later became wonderful grandparents to Leanora and John Jr.
Richard was great at playing pool, enjoyed taking a cruise, and frequent trips to Atlantic City for playing cards, roulette and slot play, as well as many shows. He had a great sense of humor and a love for music, which was always enhanced when he chimed in with his great singing voice. Spending time with his family and dearest friends was always his greatest pleasure.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother and father, Vito and Eleanor Corcia and his brothers Vito “Muzzy” and Daniel Corcia.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Anna Corcia; his loving daughter, Renee Corcia-Drumm and her husband John, his cherished grandchildren, Leanora Drumm and John Drumm, his uncle, Anthony Stolfii and his wife Anna, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28 from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Livingston. Funeral mass will be offered at 1pm at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston, with entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
