Ron hired me at Alcon in 2001 after 1 interview.  This fall marks 20 years with Alcon.  Ron saw something in me and gave me the greatest opportunity of my life.  I have Ron to thank for my long and prosperous career with Alcon.  He was a great man, a great mentor and very much became a dear friend.   Ron changed the course of my life and I am eternally grateful.   My deepest condolences to the Pepe family.  

If you knew Ron then you knew he loved food.  I was working with him Yonkers, NY.  Around 11 you felt this pressure to make sure Ron got a good lunch.  I had just picked up the area so I didn’t know the restaurants.  As we drove down the street he started to scope out the places – awning – it had to have a good awning, name – had to be a strong Italian name.  He makes his choice – Silvio’s.  He asks the waitress if they use gas or electric to heat the pizza oven? She gives him a look like my daughter gives me when I ask a question about tik-tok.  A few minutes later she delivers the pizza and Ron says it’s a gas oven.  Then he educates me on how gas cooks more evenly while electric burns the pizza in certain spots.  Sure enough the waitress comes back to confirm Ron’s gas story.  As we get back to the car he tells me to enter the call.  I look at him trying to see the joke.  He says get out the grid (our laptop at the time) and put an account profile for Silvio’s because if I quit or get promoted he wants to make sure he doesn’t lose this important market intelligence.  We always ate well with Ron

Knowing Ronnie was able to see his children thrive, grow into adulthood and begin their families was an immeasurable gift for him. The joy and love he gave to so many through the years reflected Ronnie's remarkable unselfish nature.  It has been an honor to have known him.

Ron was a mentor, colleague, and friend. We shared so many great times together, endless laughs, the back dinner, the Jewelry box vs the war chest, the reach around, tee-shirts, mixing up our grid computers right before the POA meeting- mine in NJ, his with me in FL. - that was fun! Wrong way on the exit ramp, getting the van stuck in the parking garage, meeting my son AJ with our DM team, Nard and he, his room was never cold enough at night. "No one is ever as good or as bad as they look on paper - well most of the time".  Blowing the dog off the balcony,  terecata tile. Ron, one of the best people I've ever known.  I love you man! 

Ron was a great friend and colleague at Alcon Labs where we both worked together for many years.  Ron could talk to anybody about any thing!  He had a very outgoing and concerned personality.  We enjoyed many meals together on the road.  He loved sports, Italian cuisine,  and keeping up with the world around him. He will be sorely missed.

There are so many happy memories of good times with our son-in-law, Ron, especially: ski trips to Europe, the Rockies and Vermont; the holidays in Vermont at the vacation home that Frank and I had with the Eastons; the picnics in our backyard with the extended Pepe, Bottone and Goodwin families; the year of Ron working from our garage when the twins were babies; and those fabulous 4th of July fireworks  in Vermont! Over 40 years, we shared love, laughter and tears.
Ron was a funny, loving, courageous man who has earned his peaceful rest, free of his suffering.
