

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Pepe on September 20, 2021 in Andover, New Jersey following a long and courageous battle against Multiple Sclerosis. Ron was born and raised in West Orange, New Jersey by his parents Patrick (Joe) Pepe, and Clementine (Connie) Pepe. He pursued his high school degree at Mountain High School in West Orange, New Jersey and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at Montclair State University in 1975. He launched his successful career with the Ophthalmic Products Division of Alcon Laboratories, Inc where he flourished as a Sales and District Manager. He hired and mentored many young professionals who pursued extended careers under Ron’s guidance.
Ron maintained a broad variety of interests, including endurance road cycling, amateur and professional sports, diversified cuisine, travel, skiing, coaching and vibrant conversation on a myriad of topics. He arranged and maintained extraordinary salt-water tropical fish tanks. Ron and his wife Lynda were ardent supporters of Pope John XXIII School, Sparta New Jersey where their children attended from kindergarten through Grade 12. Friends, peers and family cherished poignant dialogue with Ron on an extensive range of subjects and he was regularly consulted for his advice and counseling. Ron carried himself with tremendous dignity and class throughout his life. He enjoyed life’s finest offerings but was equally at ease engaging the marginalized or less fortunate. Ron maintained his affable and courageous character through the years and never wished to burden anyone with the challenges of his disease.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Lynda Bottone Pepe, children Christina (Dan) Jago, Ryan (Ashley) Pepe and Matthew Pepe and partner (Kristen Mignon). He will be sadly missed by his immediate and extended family including his older brother Joe (Marcia) Pepe and their children Joe Pepe Jr. (Alison) and Michael Pepe. He is also survived by 4 beautiful grandchildren: Logan, Olivia, Evan, and Nico. Additionally, survived by his brother-in-law Paul Schnabel (Rose) and nephew John Paul Schnabel and niece Jessica Schnabel. Ron is predeceased by his parents Patrick (Joe) and Connie Pepe, his father-in-law Frank Bottone Sr. and brother-in-law Frank Bottone Jr.
Visitation is scheduled at Quinn-Hopping funeral home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston NJ, Wednesday, September 22 from 4 – 8 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 23 at The Church of St. Philomena, 386 S Livingston Avenue, Livingston NJ followed by internment at The Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Hanover New Jersey.
