Thomas A. Rizzolo, 88, passed away on Saturday, March 05, 2016 in Belle Mead, NJ. Born in Newark, Thomas was a longtime resident of West Orange before recently moving to Belle Mead. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy , where he enlisted during World War II after his uncle was killed in combat, then was drafted after World War II and fought during the Korean War. Thomas was an 8th Grade History Teacher at South Bound Brook Middle School for over 40 years before his retirement. He was also a benefactor of the Humane Society and for many churches as well. Thomas was also an avid golfer who won numerous amateur tournaments throughout his playing career, and was most proud of his hole-in-one.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Adenella (Della Caprio) Rizzolo. He is survived by many cousins including Eileen Caprio, Robert Caprio, Orlando Caprio, his godson, Dante Caprio, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
