Walter Williamson, a life-long West Orange, NJ resident, passed away on April 22, 2020 at age 92. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl M. Williamson, granddaughter, Jessica Marie Schultz, sister, June Barrett and countless nieces and nephews.
Walter was predeceased by his parents: Walter S. Williamson and Elizabeth K. Williamson (Gottheiner) and siblings: Arthur Williamson, Margaret Mohr, Leona Barry, Laura Cosgrove, Herbert Williamson, Ruth Goodwin, Sidney Williamson, Alton Williamson and Barbara Backer.
Walter served in the US Army immediately following WWII and was stationed in Germany. He returned to Germany several times over his lifetime. Walter was a retired West Orange Fireman. He then purchased The Inn Crowd in Parsippany in 1972, which he ran throughout the remainder of his life.
Walter, or Schlitz as his family knew him, was a man of many interests and a devout St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was an excellent baseball player himself in his younger days in West Orange. Walter had countless friends and family, who will miss him. A private burial is planned at this time.
