Born on January 13, 1945 the oldest of three children to Pete and Leona Walter of Windsor, Colorado, Alice was born and raised in Colorado. She attended Rosevelt High School and worked for companies such as IBM, StorageTek, and Kohl’s.
Alice entered this world with a stubborn fighting spirit that sustained her through many of the challenges presented to her throughout her life. She contracted polio at the age of 18 months, lost her estranged husband and youngest child, both early in their adulthood, and defeated breast cancer in her 50’s. It was Alice's strength and resilience that carried her through the trials she faced with a continued love for life and it is these attributes that she passed onto her children and grandchildren.
Alice's free time was spent reading western and romance novels and sharing her love of crocheting and knitting with everyone she met.
Alice's passion was her gifts to the world, Marykay Cooper of Louisville, Clifton Pacaro of Longmont, Kailani Pacaro of Louisville and Elolani Pacaro (deceased). She also fondly spoiled her three grandchildren, Jaylyn Cooper, Kael Pacaro, and Rien Pacaro. Alice is also survived by her sister Donna Rupple of Platteville, Co and Randy Walter of Windsor, Co.
A celebration of life service will be held at Howe Mortuary on Thursday, September 22 at 1:00 PM, in Longmont, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, Alice's wishes were to have donations made to the American Kidney Fund, which provided much needed assistance to her during her final years.
