
Alice Louise Weiss passed away September 4, 2010 in Longmont, Colorado. She was born April 24, 1926 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was raised in Maryland and obtained her nursing diploma from Johns Hopkins University Nursing School.
In 1953 she married Earl Weiss in Phoenix, Arizona. They were married for 51 years and had two children. They lived throughout the United States and Spain before moving to Boulder, Colorado in 1964.
Alice was a nurse at Boulder Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony North Hospital, and Wardenburg Student Health Center.
Alice was an excellent seamstress and gardener. For many years she enjoyed hiking, biking and traveling around the world. She was active in a number of groups, including the Rocky Mountain Hiking Club and the High Country Sweet Adelines. She also volunteered as a docent for the Denver Art Museum and the University of Colorado Museum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Weiss and her brother, George Mendenhall. She is survived by her daughters, Dale Weiss, Laurie Destito (Tom), and her brother, Warren Mendenhall. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Annie and Mike Destito.
