Life will never be the same without Andre growing alongside us. We will always remember the joyful moments and loving memories we shared with him. Though our hearts are deeply saddened by his passing, we rejoice in knowing he has been revived in heaven. He is no longer suffering from glioma grade A brain cancer — he is tumor-free, healed, and whole. He can move his left side again. He is running, dancing, and free.
Andre was a loving, curious, and beautifully unique soul who always embraced being himself. Whether it was learning new interests, exploring new video games, or finding his next favorite show, he brought joy into everything he did. His laughter could brighten any room, and his heart was gentle and giving.
He was surrounded by a big family who loved him beyond measure — his mother, Ashlee Penner, and his siblings Dashawn, Jovane, Tearzah, Christian, Jesiah, DayJah, Ezekiel, and Elijah. He was also cherished by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who were blessed to know him. Andre had a gift for bringing people together — through his innocence, his strength, and his light.
There are so many memories we shared with Andre, but one that sticks out the most is when we would have sleepovers and stay up watching all his favorite shows. He’d laugh, point things out, rewind his favorite parts, and just soak in the moment. That was the kind of joy he brought — simple, pure, and unforgettable.
Even in his hardest moments, Andre never lost his spirit. He faced his journey with bravery and grace far beyond his years. We believe without a doubt that he is now in the presence of the Lord, wrapped in peace, and waiting for us on the other side.
As a family, we stand on faith, and we rest in these eternal words from Psalm 23:
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me;
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
A celebration of Andre’s life will be held on Monday, May 12th, 2025. It will be at Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont, Colorado. All who knew and loved Andre are welcome to come, share memories, and honor the incredible person he was.
Though our hearts ache, we find comfort in knowing that this goodbye is not forever — only for now.
We love you forever, Andre. Until we meet again.
