Andy Fuentes

Andy Fuentes passed away December 8, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was73 years old.Andy was born in El Paso, TX to Andres, Sr, and Edith Maxine (Ferris) Fuentes. He graduated from El Paso High and from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1968 where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.Andy's service with the Marine Corps in Vietnam was one of his greatest sources of pride.Andy and Anne moved to Firestone, CO in 2001 to be closer to family. This last June, they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.Andy worked for the Oil and Gas industry with Carter Petroleum for many years before opening up and running his own landscaping business Sunspot Nursery until he retired.Andy was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Frederick where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus.Andy loved his family, his grandkids, and his dogs. Andy and Anne spent many enjoyable years traveling across the United States in their RV. His passions in life were his family, church, dogs and the Marine Corps.Andy was preceded in death by his parents and his dog Muffin.He is survived by his wife Anne Fuentes; his children Gil (Gwendolyn) Fuentes, Claciann Fuentes-Oliva, Corine (Christopher) Danchik and Amy (Thomas) Hamblin; his grandchildren Elsie and Riker Fuentes, Gabrielle and Jordan Oliva, Hazel, Isabelle and Penny Danchik, and Lindsey, Makinsey and C.J. Hamblin; his sister Terri (Gary) Ackers; his godson Bobby McMahon; close friends Shelley McMahon-Douce and Merle Douce; and his dogs Missy and Crumbles.Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 PM Thursday December 15, 2016 with Rosary prayers beginning at 6:00 PM at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Frederick. Mass of Christian Burial 1:00 PM Friday December 16, 2016 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Cremation will follow Mass. Inurnment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the St. Theresa building fund or the Longmont Humane Society in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
