
Arnold Michael Batina, 82 of Longmont, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.He was born August 13, 1931 in Roosevelt, New York to Michael and Ellen (Mattson) Batina. Arnold served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Newfoundland, there he met Winnifred Adams of Saint Johns. They were married September 6, 1952 and would have celebrated their 61st anniversary this year. Arnold retired from Ball Aerospace in Boulder in 1989, where he was manager of engineering services and configuration management.He was a member of Faith Community Lutheran Church, the NRA, Old Timers Rodeo Association and American Legion Post 32.Arnold enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He was an avid horseman and Team roper and enjoyed rodeo sports. He also attended Bit and Spur shows for western collectables.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ernest and three sisters Flora Steiner, Sylvia MacColeman and Wilma Berry.Arnold is survived by his wife Winnie, three daughters Jill Batina Quale of Longmont, Nancy Benson (husband John) of Bellvue, CO and Janet Miskowicz (husband Paul) of Denver; seven grandchildren Brian Fox, Jenny Sites, Matthew Benson, Lara Howes, Natalie Lowry, Rachel Miskowicz and Peter Miskowicz; and seven great grandchildren Landon Sites, Collette Benson, Estelle Benson, Shyanne Howes, Zane Howes, Hannah Howes and James Lowry.Memorial services will be held 10:30am Friday, September 6, 2013 at Faith Community Lutheran Church.
