Audrey L. Herman

Audrey Lee Herman (Knox) was born on January 7, 1937 in Oak Creek, CO and passed away on October 18, 2024 in Longmont, CO after a long illness. Audrey spent her childhood in Hot Sulphur Springs, CO. She graduated from Middle Park Union High School in Granby, CO and from Central Business College in Denver, CO. While in Denver, she met her future husband, Wayne R. Herman. They were married on January 19, 1957 and were married for 62 years. After living in New York, Japan and Texas while Wayne was in the Air Force, they settled in Longmont, CO. Audrey worked in the St. Vrain Valley School District for 28 years until retirement. She enjoyed many sports over the years, including golf, skiing and hiking. In later years, she enjoyed playing Mahjong with her friends. She was also a long-time member of the Columbine Skye Terrier Club.

Audrey is survived by her two sons, Larry (Terry) Herman of Longmont, CO and Greg (Carla) Herman of Highlands Ranch, CO; grandchildren Brett Herman (fiancee Erin Truckenmiller) of Longmont, CO; Sean (Becki) Herman of Denver, CO; Kyla (Aaren) LeMieux of Longmont, CO; four great grandchildren; brother; James “Jim” Knox (Joan) and sister-in-law Yvonne Knox, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Genevieve Knox; husband, Wayne; grandson, Justin Herman; and brother, Ivan (Ike) Knox.

As Audrey requested, there will be no funeral services, but a Celebration of Life will be planned at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Longmont Humane Society.
