Benjamin Anthony Disalle

Benjamin Anthony DiSalle Sr, 87 yrs old of Thornton, Colorado died on September 29, 2009 at his home.Ben was born on December 19, 1921 in Frederick, Colorado. He was the son of Salvatore DiSalle and Marie Antonia ( Marcantonio) DiSalle.On April 3, 1952 he married Bianca Anina Guadagnoli in Cansano, Italy.He graduated from Frederick High School in 1938 and was drafted into the U. S Army shortly thereafter. Due to his mining experience, he was assigned to Climax Colorado to work in the Molybdenum mines to support the war effort.Ben was the youngest of six children (Angelo, Michael, Richard, Concetta and Margaret) all of whom preceded him in death except for Concetta who is now 100 years old & a resident in Hollywood, CA.Ben and Bianca (Deceased 1988) is survived by their seven children - Maria, Silvana, Salvatore, Camillo, Nadine, Benjamin Jr and Brandano, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren .His lifetime work consisted of working in the coalmines with his dad after high school. Owner/operator of DiSalle's groceries store in Frederick, Co, radiation monitor at Rocky Flats, meat cutter, cement finisher, carpenter, etc to name a few.In his spare time, he enjoyed wine making, fishing, singing, family time, bowling, Las Vegas, Black Hawk, horse shoes and making Italian sausage and being the armchair quarterback when it came to making the original Italian spaghetti sauce family recipe.Visitation/viewing scheduled for Saturday October 3, 2009 from 5 to 7 PM at Howe Mortuary in Longmont, Co. A rosary will be held in Ben's honor Sunday October 4, 2009 at St Theresa Catholic Church in Frederick, Co. at 7:00 PMFuneral/ Mass will be held Monday October 5, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Northglenn, Co. Entombment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont, Co following funeral services. A reception will follow at the Longmont Elks Lodge #1055.
