Bernice Bea Parker Hinrichs

Bernice Bea Parker Hinrichs of Longmont, CO, passed away August 20, 2017 at The Peaks Care Center. She was 94.Bea was born on February 21, 1923 in Pomeroy, Iowa. She was the daughter of Jess DeWitt and Anna Henrietta (Thies) Parker.Bea married Wayne L. Hinrichs on December 10, 1950 in Pomeroy, IA. After a vacation visit, they moved to Boulder, CO from Rockwell City, IA in January 1959. In 1978, they moved to Longmont, CO.Mrs. Hinrichs was a homemaker, mother and the life of the party. She enjoyed volunteer work, sewing, traveling, camping and square dancing. She and Wayne were longtime members of the Happy Hobos camping and square dance club. Bea was an active member of the Philanthropic Education Organization (P.E.O), Christian Women's Club and a longtime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church.Bea was preceded in death by her husband Wayne on June 14, 2013, her parents and her brother Gene D. Parker.She is survived by daughter Susan J. Atkinson of Johnstown, CO, son Rick W. Hinrichs of Boulder, CO and grandson Carey W. Atkinson.A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, September 1, 2017 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St, Longmont, CO. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
