Loved so much
Husband, Son, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Friend.
Bob was born in Oak Lawn Illinois.
Pages could and should be written about Bob.
He loved - - - everything:
His wife, Maggie of 47 - almost 48 years.
His children - Rich (Josie) Howard - Kate (Mick) Emmerson - Chris Howard
His precious Grandchildren - Tyler and Cody Howard; Haley, Samuel, and Lauren Emmerson
His Colorado dad, Harvey.
His Colorado sister, Valerie.
Bob loved to learn and that led to his many passionate hobbies; the list is so long - 4H with the kids, - boating - fishing, camping, kayaking, again with the kids and grandkids.
Blacksmithing (especially with the Longmont Historical Society at Old Mill Park), Trains, small Engines, and Tractors, the Yesteryear Farm Show, and on and on.
Bob loved being a good, helpful, and kind man;
He would do anything to help anyone.
As a Deacon of the Catholic Church, he loved being the "Holy Guy" behind the scenes; never in the forefront.
He Loved - Prison Ministry, Marriage Preparation, working with the children in the Parish School and Religious Education Programs, Serving at the Altar, and especially visiting the Nursing Homes in Longmont - even driving his Model T truck with the Calliope in the back to entertain the residents on the 4th of July.
He started the SJB Foodbank and even went on a Mission Trip to Juarez, Mexico to build houses.
His retirement brought a multitude of health issues, but he persevered -
His love to serve never waned - he loved being a Volunteer as a Patient Advocate for Longmont United Hospital.
As you know - Bob was "JOY". His smile and laugh would truly fill the room.
We will miss him in ways that we can't even imagine.
His life was big, grand, and good for our world.
His legacy is the grace and goodness he gave to us all.
It is said that "no one really is gone until his or her name is no longer spoken."
Please speak his name often.
Please - no flowers. The Church is still beautiful with Easter flowers.
Instead, if you wish, make a donation to the SJB Tabernacle Stand.
