

Carlton (Carl) John Hanna, 88, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2021. He was born on October 24th, 1932 in Oconto, Wisconsin to the late John and Violet (DeCloux) Hanna. Carl attended St. Peter’s Catholic Grade School in “Frenchtown” and graduated from Oconto High School in 1951.
He served in the U.S. National Guard for 11 years. He also attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering and served as the President of the Greater Milwaukee Chapter of Refrigeration Services.
Carl Married his High School sweetheart, Beatrice (Bea) Kazlauckas on May 1st, 1954 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Oconto. Together, they moved their young family to Brown Deer, Wisconsin in 1959 so Carl could train for his Journeymen certification as a Refrigeration Technician. In 1970 they moved to New Hope, Minnesota where Carl worked for Red Owl supermarket chain. This eventually lead them back to Wisconsin in 1976 to own and operate their own commercial refrigeration business in Green Bay. After 10 years, Carl and Bea decided to move to Boulder, Colorado to build and operate 2 car washes in nearby Longmont, Colorado. They eventually built a home in Longmont and made Colorado their home for over 35 years.
Carl was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont and was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting trips with family and friends. During their 67 years together, Carl and Bea enjoyed hiking, biking, snow skiing and jogging. They ran the Boulder Run for over 20 years. Together with their children, they enjoyed family vacations, camping and going on cruises.
In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by his four children: Timothy (Beverly) Hanna of Cambridge Minnesota; Cindy Bona (Adolph III), Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; Patricia Calawerts (Christopher), Suamico, Wisconsin and John Hanna, Longmont, Colorado. He is also survived by 21 Grandchildren: Richelle Pullis (Troy), Mound, Minnesota; Carlton (Anna) Hanna, Bozeman, Montana; Rebeccah Fruchtenbaum (Ian), New Hope, Minnesota; Robin Langenkamp (Jeff), Howard, Wisconsin; Adolph IV (Laurie) Bona, Green Bay, Wisconsin; Hannah Scholl (Neil), Neenah, Wisconsin; Nicholas (Ann) Bona, Green Bay, Wisconsin; Shawn (Fiance- Carlyn) Bona, Lakewood, Colorado, Jennifer McGavock (Bill), Green Bay, Wisconsin; Elizabeth Ariens (Nicholas), Green Bay, Wisconsin; Stephanie Kelly (Domenic), Howard, Wisconsin; Joseph Calawerts, Austin, Texas; Gabrielle Calawerts, Suamico, Wisconsin; Jacob Calawerts, Suamico, Wisconsin; Ashly Hanna, Georgetown, Texas; Michael Hanna, Longmont, Colorado. He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren and his sister Annette Johnson. He was proceeded in death by his brother and sister-in-law James and Sally Hanna.
A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin at a date to be determined in 2022.
