

Carolyn Faye Hunter of Longmont, Colorado died November 4, 2008 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 72.Carolyn was born on March 30, 1936 in Menno, South Dakota to John Peter and Sophie (Sarutzki) Engel. She grew up in Longmont where she attended school. Carolyn married Jack Bernard Winston on March 15, 1954 in Berthoud. After Jack died, she married Robert Hunter in Longmont.Carolyn worked at the Woolworths's store in Longmont, at the Sugar Factory and then was a Data Processor for Neo Data for 14 years before she retired. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. Carolyn enjoyed crocheting, working in her garden and spending time outdoors, and taking care of animals. She also was an avid bowler and participated in bowling leagues.Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, son Wayne Alan Hunter and daughter Julie Ann Ocoback.Carolyn is survived by four daughters: Cindy Shipley and her husband Tim of Longmont, Debbie Cunningham of Loveland, Angie Willert and her husband Rory of Broomfield, and Sandi Chauncey and her husband Roy of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; twelve grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; her brother Alvin engel and his wife Mary of Rifle, Colorado and sister Irene Payne of Longmont.Memorial services will be held at Howe Mortuary on Thursday, November 6 at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Mary Dobbs officiating.
