Catherine Louise Cathy"" Winter

Cathy was born on January 26, 1942 in Longmont to William Benjamin Ballinger and Anna Marnich Ballinger. Raised in Longmont, she graduated from Longmont High School in 1960. She was incredibly proud of her heritage and in being a fifth-generation resident of Longmont.

Cathy married Ken Winter on February 4, 1961 in Longmont. Here, they raised their children and spent many joyous years with their grandchildren. She was a gifted homemaker. As a gracious hostess and excellent cook, she made her house a home to anyone who was able to spend time there.

Cathy took up quilting and enjoyed her time with her quilt group, working on their skills and socializing. She was a member of the Sunset Women’s Golf League. She has volunteered many hours to the Peaks Care Center, baking and cooking for the residents and creating activities and crafts for them to entertain and enjoy themselves with.

Preceding her in death are her beloved husband Ken and father Ben Ballinger.

Surviving are her mother Anna Ballinger, son Todd (Diana) Winter of Longmont; daughter Kristi (Ken) Davidson of Longmont; four grandchildren Courtney (fiancé’ Layne McBride) and Brittany Davidson and Blake and Keith Winter; a brother Ben (Kathy) Ballinger of Longmont.

A cremation has been entrusted to the Howe Mortuary.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 19 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
