Catherine May Hubert

Cathy attended Colorado State College (now University of Northern Colorado) where she studied Art and Botany. While there, she met the love of her life, Wallace (Wally) Hubert on a blind date. They married on January 17, 1959, and established their first home in Denver, Colorado. Together they raised three daughters: Tamara, Carolyn, and Sandra.

Cathy was a loving wife and an amazing mother. She was very active in her children’s lives and engaged in all their school activities and projects, while supporting the educational system (PTA President, Musical Programs, Fundraisers). Once her family was raised, she worked as an administrative assistant, a realtor, and an inventory tracking specialist for IBM. She had a variety of interests throughout her life including square dancing, fishing, playing bridge, pitching horseshoes, sewing, scrapbooking, and doing all kinds of needle crafts, especially counted cross stitch. She especially loved hummingbirds as they were so much a part of the Colorado mountains that she cherished. Cathy was a life-long Lutheran and an active member of First Lutheran Church of Longmont, CO for forty years.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Wallace Hubert; three daughters: Rev. Tamara (Bruce) Bull, Carolyn (Corby) Young, Sandra (Lee) Stevenson; six grandchildren: Rev. Sylvia Bull (Seth Bicknell), Victoria Bull, Jessica (Taylor) Olson, David (Aaliyah) Young, Andrew Stevenson, Nicole (Sayber) Spence; two great-grandchildren: Andrea and Rebekah Olson; and her sisters: Jane Cordes and Susan Sherwin; as well as extended family members and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church in Longmont, CO.

A visitation was held for Catherine Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont and her funeral service occured Friday, March 10, 2023 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Following her service, Catherine was buried at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church in Longmont, Colorado.
