Chad Clymer, formerly of Longmont, died at his home in Casper, Wyoming on February 16, 2011. Chad was the son of Khileen Clymer Flynn and Sam Clymer and was raised in the Hygiene area, graduating from Longmont High School, Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, and University of Wyoming with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science. At 15, Chad bought his own tractor, swather, and baler and started a custom hay cutting business in the Hygiene / Longmont area in spite of not being old enough for a driver's license at the time. He and his buddies bucked a lot of bales those few summers. He was a member of 4-H and FFA and showed hogs at the oulder County Fair for eleven years, after which he became an active member in the Junior Fair Board before moving out of state. Chad worked on various cattle ranches and hog farms in Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming before settling into a welding career where he worked for Boulder Steel, Flynn and Company Welding, and most recently Westech in Casper. Chad demonstrated an unusually strong work ethic, whatever the task, and had an uncanny ability to anticipate what needed to be done next. After a long courtship, Chad married Kim Seres in June of 2008 and he became stepfather to Austin and Valarie Seres, all of whom he dearly loved. He enjoyed being back in Wyoming where he could enjoy the abundant wildlife of the plains, mountains, lakes and streams of a state he had grown to' love in college. Chad relished the country/western lifestyle, having had his own horse while growing up and later working weekends for Blake Nelson to help with the summer team ropings at Nelson Arena. Chad was an avid sportsman and looked forward to hunting seasons and fishing every weekend with Kim and the kids. Chad's knowledge of wildlife and nature was remarkable, having started studying various species of animal life, bugs, birds, and nature from the time he could read. He thoroughly enjoyed passing that love down to his stepchildren. Chad was intelligent, sincere and caring, a man of few words that loved to sit back and listen, and then join in with some subtle teasing of his own. He is survived by his wife, Kim Clymer and stepchildren Austin (12) and Valarie (9); mother, Khileen Clymer Flynn and stepfather Jim of Platteville, Colorado; father, Sam Clymer and stepmother, Holly of Wheatland, Wyoming; sister, Kami (John) Clymer Hamilton of Elko, Nevada; step-brothers, Dugan Flynn, Ryan (Angie) Flynn of Longmont and Casey Flynn of Fort Collins; stepsisters, Tara Doyle of Westminster and Amber Harrison of Escondido, California; aunts, Rosalyn (Darrel) May of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jan (Ray) Bisson of Mt. Clemens, Michigan; uncle, Terry (Beverly) Clymer of Boulder; in-laws, Pam and Steve Lahr of Firestone; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends. Chad was predeceased by his grandparents; Roland Doc Balch, Evelyn Balch Thomson, Arthur Art Clymer and Adrienne Clymer, all of Boulder. The sparkle in his blue eyes, soft smile, and quiet ways will be missed by all that knew and loved him for the gentle man he was. A memorial service to celebrate Chad's life will be held at 10:00 A.M, Monday, February 21, 2011 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Contributions may be made to the Clymer Children Educational Fund in care of Grant, Grant, and Goiran, PO Box 908, Longmont, CO 80502, or a charity of your choice in Chad's name.
