Chandler Brooks

Chandler Brooks of Longmont died March 25, 2011. He was 13 years old.Chandler was born on May 25, 1997 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Lee and Michelle (Cordy) Brooks. He moved to Longmont in 1999 and was a student at Sunset Middle School.Chandler was involved with the Sunset School Band. He loved to spend time online with his friends playing Xbox Live. Chandler also loved listening to music on his iPod and reading books. Chandler had a great sense of humor and enjoyed watching comedy. He enjoyed camping, boating and fishing with his Dad. Chandler loved animals especially his dog, Maggie. In his early childhood Chandler enjoyed building Lego structures, riding motorcycles, soccer, inline hockey and baseball. He was preceded in death by his devoted and loving mother on March 27, 2010 and his grandfather Michael Cordy.Chandler is survived by his father, Lee Brooks of Longmont; an uncle, Michael Umlauf (Jennifer); four aunts, Sherri Amen (Bob), Lora Cordy, Mary Johnston (Michael) and Barbara Umlauf; his great-grandmothers, Loretta Bucher, Evelyn Paul, Alvina Lake; his grandparents, Dorothy Brooks, Ron Brooks and William and Marilyn Umlauf and his cousins, David and Devin Amen, Mandy and Stephen Johnston and Maya and Z Umlauf.A memorial service to celebrate Chandler's life will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Rocky Mountain Christian Church's Niwot Campus, 9447 Niwot Road. Cremation will be at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HOPE Coalition and mailed to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
