

Charles David Hughlett, 75, of Longmont, died October 19, 2015 at his home. He was born in Sullivan, Wisconsin, to Thomas E. and Helen (Hendricksen) Hughlett. Following his high school graduation Chuck was drafted into the United States Army on September 18, 1958, being honorably discharged on September 16, 1960. On March 19, 1971 he married Charlotte Bennett in Longmont, Colorado.
Mr. Hughlett retired after a 35 year illustrious career with the GE Johnson Construction Company. He was a part of building the Telluride Doral Resort and Spa, the Hyatt in Beaver Creek, Wagner Equipment in Aurora, President Ford’s Home in Beaver Creek, both the Craig and Summit County High Schools and the Broadmoor Golf Club in Colorado Springs, as well as many other projects. In his free time Chuck enjoyed woodworking, reading, working jigsaw puzzles, playing solitaire on the computer, collecting stamps and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
He was also supportive of Meals on Wheels and the Interfaith Quilters.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte Hughlett of Longmont, his daughters Randi (Rob) Swindler of Colorado Springs, CO, Traci Foster of San Diego, CA and Christina (Rob) Westman of Andover, MN. He is further survived by his brother Henry (Louise) Hughlett of Stevens Pointe, WI and his sister Lois Smith of Palmyra, WI, four grandchildren, his brother -in- law Duane (Cindy) Bennett of Longmont, CO and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
A Celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 23, 2015 in the Howe Mortuary Event Room.
