

Ken was born on December 7, 1929 In Kansas City, Missouri to Claude A. Baker and Myrtle Spears Baker. Raised in Missouri, he later attended the University of Missouri. He married Phyllis Jean King on June 4, 1949 in North Kansas City, Missouri. She preceded him in death in 2005. He married Marie Gordon on October 1, 2006 in Lyons.
Ken and his young family moved to Longmont in 1961. He took a teaching assignment at Longmont High School where he taught Physics and Math classes from 1961 to 1987.
Ken was a multi-talented individual. At a young age he showed great propensity for electronics. As a young man, he took on jobs, repairing electronic equipment. He held a Ham radio operator’s license. He was a skilled photographer, an accomplished yachtsman, a master gardener, an avid fly fisherman and a licensed pilot.
Preceding him in death were his parents, grandson Collin, and sister Vera.
Surviving are his wife of Lyons; children Claudia (Larry) Meyer of Divide, Colorado; Glenn (Nancy) Baker of Columbus, Indiana; and David Suzanne) Baker of Littleton; 6 grandchildren Marcus, Allison, Ashley, Atkins, Caroline and Michael and 8 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 15 at the Howe Mortuary Community Room.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 16 at the United Methodist Church of Lyons. Interment will follow at Lyons Cemetery.
