

Daniel, beloved son of John Elmer Nylander and Nancy Ashton Nylander, passed away on March 30, 2018.He was born in Bellevue, WA and spent his childhood in Minnetonka, MN. After graduating from Hopkins Lindbergh High School, he joined the US Air Force. After six years he moved to Colorado, where he studied at the University of Colorado-Boulder and joined the Air National Guard at the Buckley Air National Guard Base. His twenty years of service in the military included deployments in Asia, Europe and Australia.Upon graduation from CU-Boulder with a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering he became an Application-Specific Integrated Circuit designer at SSI, TI, Agere, Maxtor, LSI, SEAKR and Ball Aerospace. He has two US patents on High Speed Protocol and devices.He was a member of the American Legion. He loved his family and figuring out how everything works. He loved traveling, playing with his nephews and nieces and spending summers at his family lake home in Wisconsin swimming and playing killer croquet. He loved living and hiking in the Colorado mountain's, Pink Floyd, and jazz. He loved his cats Snubby, Barney, and Slippers.Dan was preceded in death by his father John Nylander and sister-in-law Pamela Strong Nylander.He is survived by his wife Afshan, his mother Nancy Nylander, siblings John, Chris (Amy), Wendy, Jim, and Jennifer (Norman), and his nephews Jeffrey, Patrick, Niklas, and nieces Katherine and Brittany.His memorial service will be held at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry Street, Longmont, CO 80501 on Saturday, June 16th, 2018 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers his family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Community Food Share, CO.
