Darrell Louis Freeman

Darrell Louis Freeman passed away March 30, 2017, at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. He was 63 years old.Darrell was born July 21, 1953, in Lima, OH, to George Grant and Maxine (McBride) Freeman. He grew up in Illinois and graduated from Sycamore High School in 1971 before joining the U.S. Navy in 1972 where he served until 1983 in Idaho Falls as a nuclear submarine instructor. He moved to Longmont following his honorary discharge.He married Christine Showalter on November 24, 1984, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longmont. They later divorced.Darrell worked as a software engineer at StoargeTek, DigitalGlobe and Intrado before retiring in 2011.He was a member of American Legion Post 211 in Denver; he enjoyed scuba diving, traveling and cruising to warm destinations.Darrell is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his step-daughter Holly Triplett and her husband Kevin of Grand Junction; his brothers David Freeman of Mount Sterling, KY, and Dana Hood of Fort Collins, CO; his sister Debra Ebright of Grandview, MO, and his granddaughter Jessica.At Darrell's request, no services will be held.
