

Dennis Allen Lunt (67)of Lyons, Colorado, passed away July 8, 2017 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. Dennis was born in Wichita, Kansas on August 16, 1949 to Howard and Violet Lunt. In 1970 Dennis migrated to Colorado, and in 1985 he graduated from Colorado University studying Computer Science. He used his knowledge of computer science to work for multiple companies, including the National Jewish Hospital, IBM, and Rockwell International. While working for Rockwell he met his wife Anita, and the two were married on February 14, 1986. Dennis also worked as air traffic controller for several years in Kansas, Colorado and the US Navy. He retired from the FAA in 2013.
Dennis studied Kung-Fu with Anita for 27 years and had a 3rd degree black belt. The two traveled to China several times. Dennis being a story teller transformed their visits into a book which, he and Anita co-wrote and published with their company Moose Mountain Publishing called “10,000 Steps Straight Up”. Dennis was a natural leader, go- getter, and romantic who also was an avid shooter and photographer. He also enjoyed telling stories through movie making, and loved his pet cats.
He is survived by his parents Howard and Violet Lunt, his sister Brenda Lunt, and wife of 31 years Anita Lunt. He is further survived by many friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Darrell Lunt.

A memorial service will be held at Westview Presbyterian Church, 1500 Hover St. Longmont, Friday, July 14, 2017 at 4:00PM.
