Dorothy L. Chandler

Dorothy L. Chandler, 86, of Longmont passed away November 19, 2016 at Longmont United Hospital. She was born November 14, 1930 in Bellaire, Kansas to Andrew Ruben and Laura (Vinsonhaler) Kennedy.Dorothy's family moved to Jamestown in 1935, she graduated from Longmont High School in 1948. Dorothy married Robert L. Chandler on February 8, 1949 in Longmont.Dorothy worked for William's Café and Robbins Flower Shop. She and Robert owned and operated The Family Affair restaurant from 1980 until 1987 in Longmont.Dorothy was a member of Heart Of Longmont Church, the St Vrain Rose Society. She enjoyed crocheting and had a passion for floral designing, helping out at her church and the OUR Center.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert in 2006, two grandchildren; Christopher Chandler and Nathan Nelson, two brothers; Donald and Roger Kennedy, and a sister Alice Carroll.Dorothy is survived by two sons; Kenneth A. (Linda) Chandler, Kevin L. (Cory) Chandler, four daughters; Joyce E. (Ted) Boatsman, Rita L. (Craig) Anderson, Marla S. Chandler and Shirley A. Chandler, a sister Melva Redding, grandchildren; Matt Chandler, Michael Chandler, Tracy Fick, Stuart Boatsman, Jeremy Gilomen, Chad Chandler, Kendra Price, Stefanie Primm, Joshua and Justin Nelson, Jessica Chandler, Amanda Speer, Nate Olson, Trevor Olson, twenty three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.Visitation will be 12 noon to 2 PM Sunday Nov. 27, 2016 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be 1:30 PM Monday Nov. 28, at Heart of Longmont (First United Methodist Church).
