Duane Robert Klug, son of Vernon and Lenore Klug, was born and raised on a farm in Norfolk Nebraska. In 1957 he met Dianne Carstens and they later married on October 29, 1960. They farmed near Battle Creek, Nebraska, raising their 2 children, Kathy and Dan, and later moved to Longmont Colorado in 1971.
Not being one to work for someone else, he quickly started his own landscaping business. Due to his love of the outdoors, it was the perfect fit and he spent the next 30+ years landscaping countless homes, parks and businesses in the Boulder County area.
After retirement Dianne and Duane spent many winters traveling the country in their RV. They were able to reach 49 out of the 50 states, meeting new friends and making a lifetime of wonderful memories along the way. During the time spent at home, Duane's focus became his love of antique cars and restoring his 1932 Buick coupe and 1932 Chevy sedan. He loved to enter local car shows and brought home several awards. If you were ever looking for Duane, you could find him out tinkering in his garage. Duane will be remembered for his love of life, his teasing ways and love of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David. He is survived by his wife Dianne, daughter Kathy Talbot (Alan), son Dan (Pam) Klug, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Vernelle and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Messiah Lutheran church in Longmont, on Saturday, February 5th at 1:00p. Dessert, fellowship and storytelling to follow. For those unable to join us, the next time you have a beer, raise your glass up and give Duane a little cheer.....he would love that!
