
Edward Allen Klor, 78, of Longmont, died January 30, 2013 at his home. He was born October 20, 1934 in Springfield, IL the son of Russell Brittin Klor and Mary Matthews Klor. Following his high school graduation, Ed went on to attend college where he earned his master’s degree in Education. He taught school for more than 30 years, retiring in 1995. Much of his career was as a teacher with the RE9 Highland School District.
Edward married Harriett Daggett on August 30, 1956 in Scottsbluff, NE. The lived in Nunn, Colorado until moving to Longmont 15 years ago. He was a devout Christian and a member of LifeBridge Christian Church where he served as a lay minister. He will be remembered first and foremost as a family man, a student of the word, and a wonderful husband.
He was also a ham radio enthusiast, a model train buff and enjoyed the sport of fishing.
Survivors include his wife Harriett Klor of Longmont, his son Russell Klor and his wife Sylvia, of Webb City, MO, his daughters Julie Ballard and her husband Ron of Longmont, Susanne Matteson and her husband Ray of Lamar, CO and Karrie Funk and her husband Tom of Lincoln, IL. 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren further survive him.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at LifeBridge Christian Church.
