

Ed was born February 5, 1921 in Bessie, Oklahoma, the only child of Ferdinand and Lydia (Haber) Miller. Following his high school graduation he went on to attend Oklahoma State University for two years before being inducted into the United States Army. Having earned the rank of Sergeant, he was honorably discharged in 1945.
On June 28, 1947 he married Elizabeth “Beth” Rafter in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He retired in 1980 from his career as a body shop foreman. He moved to Longmont in 2006. Ed was of Lutheran faith and was a member of both the Masons and the Elks. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid Broncos fan. He will also be remembered for his love of dogs.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Survivors include his son Travis C. (Joan) Miller of Henderson, Nevada and his daughter Anne L. (Geoff) Barela of Longmont and his grandchildren Aimee Peterson and Corey Barela and his great granddaughter Addyson Barela. He is further survived by his step grandchildren Michael Cozad and Pepper Chapman and step great-grandchildren Trenton, Trevor, Tristan, Tracen and Tressa Chapman.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Loveland Burial Park, Loveland, CO.
