Edwin Kraft

Edwin Art Kraft, Jr. of Frederick died November 2, 2011 at Longmont United Hospital. He was 86 years old.Art was born on March 25, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Edwin, Sr. and Edna (Dunlay) Kraft. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1950 as a Sergeant.Art married Gloria McPherson and to this marriage Debbie and Karen were born. They later divorced. Art then married Wilma Teeft on May 10, 1956 and to this marriage E. Arthur III, Jeffrey and Jeanne were born.Art was a firefighter in Hialeah, Florida, retiring in 1976. The family then moved to Collegedale, Tennessee where Art was a Fire Safety Manager for McKee Foods Co. and also the Assistant Chief for the Tri Community Volunteer Fire Department, retiring in 1990 at the age of 65. Art and Wilma then moved to Longmont and were members of the Longmont Seventh-day Adventist Church.Art enjoyed water sports, golf, bowling, playing pinochle, and traveled all over the U.S. and Canada several times.He was preceded in death by his parents.Art is survived by his wife, Wilma; five children, Debra Pugliese, Karen Schutt, E. Arthur Kraft III, Jeffrey Kraft and Jeanne Clark; a sister, Lea Sarah Burghardt; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 4:30PM on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow services at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
