Elizabeth Mae Goodwin

Elizabeth Mae ˜Liz' Goodwin passed away February 12, 2013 at Life Care Center of Longmont. She was 87.Elizabeth was born September 16, 1925 in Albia, Iowa to Rosc W. and Jessie M. (Hainline) Cosner. She had 5 brothers, Rosc Jr.; Clarence; Richard; Kenneth and Robert. She had 4 half sisters, Verla Funk; Velma Riley; Georgia Allen and Dell Bruns.She married James Holmes in 1943 and later divorced in 1956. They had 3 children together, Carol Grillo, Dianna Holmes and Patricia Marquez. On November 15, 1958 she married Miles J. Goodwin in Anaheim California. Together they had 3 children, Sharon Raby, Pamela Soltow and Leslie Goodwin. As a result of their combined families, she also gained 9 additional children. Miles Joseph Goodwin Jr, Marge Hance, Donald Goodwin, Carole Burbridge, Joyce Thomas, Judith Lynn, Gaylia Megerle and Marion Whitfield. They together adopted a son, Larry Goodwin. She moved to Longmont from Michigan in October of 1977.She was a homemaker, loving wife, a devoted mother; and a strong Christian woman.Elizabeth enjoyed a variety of crafts and playing cards and board games. She was preceded in death by her husband Miles on February 22, 1977; her daughters Carol Grillo; Patricia Marquez; Marion Whitfield and adopted son Larry Goodwin; Her Parents, Rosc and Jessie; brothers Rosc Jr.; Richard; Kenneth and half sisters Verla Funk; Velma Riley; and Georgia Allen. Elizabeth is survived by her children Dianna Holmes, Miles Joseph Goodwin, Jr., Sharon Raby, Pamela Soltow; Leslie Goodwin; Marge Hance, Donald Goodwin, Carole Burbridge, Joyce Thomas; Judith Lynn and Gaylia Megerle. Grandchildren, Tonya; Cherie; Micheyle; Monique; Brandon; Eric; Cortney; Sarah; Zachary; Elizabeth; Kandace; Daniel and Nanette. Great Grandchildren, Britany; Shannon; Billy; Madalyn; Ryleigh; Miles; Aubree; Alicia; Dustin; Dillon; Tylor; Mirah; Jaden; Chayce; Landyn; Anthony; Kayleigh; Logan; Najara and Keira. Great-Great Grandchild, Avaiah. She also had numerous other Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren from Miles J. Goodwin's children.Visitation 5:00-7:00 PM Monday February 18, 2013 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral service 1:30 PM Tuesday February 19, 2013 at Faith Community Lutheran Church.
