

Emma Jeanne Conover McAfee went home to Jesus on Christmas Day, December 25, 2017. She was born in Broomfield, CO, on October 5, 1927, and moved to Longmont as a young child. She graduated from Longmont High School in 1945, where she met and later married Bob McAfee on May 18, 1947. They moved to the Denver area and there worked and raised their family until retirement at which time they returned to Longmont.
Emma worked as a secretary in both Sheridan and Littleton schools and the House of Representatives. When she returned to Longmont she worked at Alert Realty for several years.
She enjoyed playing golf, traveling, spending time with her family in a variety of ways, and serving God at her church where she was always very active, the last 30 plus years at Lifebridge Christian Church. Emma was involved in music ministry, women’s ministry, senior’s ministry, exercise class, and quilting group. She was an avid sports fan of the Broncos, Nuggets, and Rockies, and always rooted for her grandchildren in their activities.
Preceding Emma in death were her parents, Archie and Margaret Conover, sisters Dorothy Brushwiller, Doris Warren, Lois Hubbard, Gladys Ramsey Wilhite, and Bette Marshall, infant son, Michael Patrick, and Bob McAfee, husband of 62 years.
Emma is survived by her daughters Pamela Keller of Arvada and Maureen (Reenie) Stewart of Salt Lake City, six grandchildren, Nicole Shannon (Blake), Jessica Keller, TJ Keller, Zachary Stewart (Whitney), Drew Stewart (Amy), and Kelly Korte (Brian), six great grandchildren, Crosbee Stewart, Israel Stewart, Josephine Korte, Emery Korte, Wyatt Korte, and Tayden Keller. There are also several nieces and a nephew.
A celebration of life service will be held at Lifebridge Christian Church, Longmont, Colorado on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lifebridge Christian Church.
