Fern Louise Weeks

Fern Louise Weeks of Longmont, CO., died on February 23, 2007 at the HospiceCare Center in Louisville, CO., after a lengthy illness. She was 77 years old.Fern was born October 24, 1929 to Omer and Nora (Ellis) Furman in Council Grove, Kansas. She graduated from the Council Grove High School in 1947. She was a member of the Council Grove First Baptist Church and was employed by the Kansas Power and Light CO., in Council Grove, KS.Her marriage to LaVerne E. Weeks was June 22, 1947, in Council Grove. She moved to Longmont, CO in 1959 when her husband was transferred from Beech Aircraft. There, they became members of the Longmont Church of the Nazarene.She was an administrative assistant at Valleylab for 15 years before her retirement in 1993. Prior to that, she was an executive secretary at Parma Industries (formerly Gould, Inc.) for 16 years.Fern enjoyed her family, many friends, work, reading, knitting and her church.She was preceded in death by her husband on May 12, 1996, her parents, and 2 brothers; Cecil Furman who was killed in action during the Korean War and Harold Furman of Council Grove.She is survived by a daughter, Judith Drieth, and a son, Jeffrey Weeks and his wife, Debbie of Longmont, 7 grandchildren, Scott Drieth and his wife, Rebecka of Johnstown, Sean Drieth and his wife, Miki, Christy Angevine, Nicholas Weeks, Andrea Weeks, Kari Weeks and Danielle Weeks all of Longmont, 3 great grandchildren, Thomas Angevine, Brayden Weeks and Zora Drieth.She is also survived by a sister, Oma Jean Weeks and husband, Virgil, a brother, Donald Furman and wife, Dorothy, a sister-in-law, Glennis Furman all of Council Grove, several nieces, nephews and friends.Visitation with family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2007 at the Longmont Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Vickie Morgan officiating.
