

Gary Henry Sahm, 67, of Westminster, CO, died May 11, 2006 at Porter Hospice in Centennial, Colorado.Gary was born on January 15, 1939 in Boulder, Colorado to Ralph and Katherine (Davies) Sahm. He grew up in Estes Park and graduated from the Estes Park High School. Gary enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served from 1957 until he left the reserves in 1963. He attained the rank of Lance Corporal with a rating of E-3.After his service, Gary attended Northeastern Junior College for a while and then took some classes at the University of Colorado. In 1961 he married Marsha Lindenberg in Torrance, California. The couple later divorced.Gary was a carpenter who owned his own construction company, Alpine Crafts. He built custom homes and was still involved in home building until about a month ago. The Sahm family lived in Boulder from 1962 to 1968, then moved to Broomfield until 1978, Conifer until 1995 and then Westminster. Gary was an avid fisherman who knew all the best places to fish, enjoyed oil painting and doing woodworking projects in his shop. His parents preceded Mr. Sahm in death. He is survived by a son, Eric Sahm and his wife, Michelle of Centennial, Colorado and a daughter, Laura Kemp and her husband, Gary of Grapevine, Texas; five grandchildren: Dylan and Morgan Sahm of Centennial, CO and Kasey, Ashley, and Adam Kemp of Grapevine, TX; his former wife, Marsha Sahm of Dallas, and a brother, Ray Sahm and his wife, Uta of Estes Park, Colorado.Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder.
