

George was born on May 15, 1927 to Adolph and Bertha (Carton) Lefever in Lafayette, Colorado and passed from this life on April 25, 2020. George was a resident of The Peaks Care Center in Longmont, Colorado at the time of his death.
George was the oldest of four children. George attend school in Longmont, Colorado. After graduation George continued helping his parents on the farm until he was drafted into the U. S. Army on July 28, 1945. George was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on December 13, 1946. While in the U.S. Army, George served with the counterintelligence corps center at Holabird Signal Depot in Baltimore, MD. George also worked in the enlisted man's mess hall preparing the food and supervising the kitchen. Upon his discharge, George returned to Colorado where he worked for one year doing custom wheat harvesting. In 1948, George started farming on Airport Road near Longmont raising cattle, sugar beets, corn, alfalfa hay, and brewing barley. George received several outstanding farming awards during his farming career. George was also active on the St. Vrain and Left-Hand Water Board. Upon his retirement, George went to work for the Longmont Water Board.
In 1952, George met and married Arvilla Major on November 24th of that year. To this marriage three children born, two sons and a daughter. George's oldest son had cerebral palsy which led to George's involvement with the "Tiny Tim" educational group. This involvement pioneered new educational horizons which resulted in both of his handicapped sons graduating from high school and college. George's daughter also graduated from high school and college.
George was a lifetime member of Council #1313 of the Knights of Columbus and 4th Degree Assembly #0094. George was a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Club# 1055. George was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post# 32
George was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church. He also enjoyed attending St. Francis of Assissi Catholic church which is located near George's old farmland.
George enjoyed fishing, playing golf, country line dancing, traveling the world, and visiting family. George was preceded in death by: his Parents, one sister (Mary Erhlich), his wife Arvilla, and his sons Douglas and Robert. George is survived by two brothers Maurice and Henry Lefever one Daughter-Nancy (John) Arnbrecht One Granddaughter Shellie (Tyler) Wilke Many nieces, nephews, and friends
Private service will be held with burial at Foothills Gardens of Memory.
