

George Arvid Lubovich 9/18/1948 - 12/2/2008George Arvid Lubovich, 60, of Longmont passed away December 2, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 18, 1948 in Eveleth, Minnesota to Dan and Ella Lubovich. George graduated from Longmont High School in 1966 and served his country in the U.S. Army. Afterwards, he owned and operated a bar in Longmont called The Pub for several years. George married Leslie Bashor in December of 1987. Together they raised their two daughters and a son. George also owned and operated Longmont Plumbing and Heating for 35 years. With his business he sponsored several sports teams including men's, women's, and girl's fast pitch softball and his son's Special Olympics softball. George had many hobbies. He loved spending time at his lodge in Alaska and fishing with his friends and family, bow hunting, golfing, playing cards, telling old stories and rooting for the Colorado Avalanche. He was preceded in death by his father Dan Lubovich and brother Don Lubovich. He is survived by his wife, Leslie Lubovich of Longmont; daughters Katie Lubovich (fiancé Erik Herrmann) & Brittanie Villani of Denver; son Jordan Lubovich of Longmont; mother Ella Lubovich; brother Marvin Lubovich; sisters Danella DeVries, Barbara (Red) Kirk, Betty (Monty) Connely, Pam (Tor) Cranner, Thelma (Jack) Ryder, Mary (Rick) Rodriguez, Marlene (Delby) Brady, and Carol (Mark) Parker, and very close family friend, Pam Adler. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2008 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Howe Mortuary. Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Community Lutheran Church in Longmont with interment following at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
