Gregory Red F. Hidden

Greg Red Hidden (66) lifelong fan, player and dedicated ice hockey official blew his last whistle Saturday, February 7, 2015. Red left this world for an eternal hockey paradise following a motor vehicle accident while returning home from officiating a hockey game, one of his many passions in life.Red is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 45 years, Gloria (Brost), and the pride of his life, daughter Heather. Red is further survived by Deborah Hidden-DeWitt, his sister, of Ph nix, AZ.Born to the late Ralph and Mary Jo Hidden, Red grew up in Rockton, IL where he graduated from Hononegah Community High School before joining the U.S. Navy. While stationed at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA, Red completed training as an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist while maintaining his participation in hockey and also serving as a reservist with the San Diego City Police Dept.Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Red completed his undergraduate degree at San Diego State University before earning his Masters of Business Administration from National University. With a long and distinguished career in Risk Management, Red was a Director of Risk Management for (Banner Health) McKee Medical Center in Loveland, CO at the time of his passing. Red was an active member of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers, and recently earned his Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Manager certification.A 10 year resident of Mead, CO, Red was an active parishioner of Guardian Angels Catholic Church, including serving on the Pastoral Council and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also founded MowR Tunes, a small engine service and repair business. Red's involvement with USA Hockey dates back 30+ years, a commitment he cherished not only for the love of the game but also for the depth and breadth of relationships he forged as a player and a referee.Red will be missed by the many friends and colleagues in his personal and professional life. In addition to his family, Red is survived by his extended family, Ray and Arlene Brost (father- and mother-in-law) of Janesville, WI and the following sister-and brother-in-laws: Mary Lou and John Donnelly of Clintonville, WI; Carol and Ray Briggs of Bluffton, IN; Nancy Ford of Sun Prairie, WI; Michael and Michelle Brost of Arlington Hts, IL; and Judy Hanson, David and Therese Brost, Lisa and Todd Moran, and Sue and Wayne Hansen, all of Janesville, WI. Red is additionally survived by 15 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews. Preceding Red in passing to eternal life were his grandparents, parents and brother-in-law Steven Brost.Family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Friday, February 13 with a Vigil Service at 7pm and Funeral Mass at 1:30 pm, Saturday, February 14, both services at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (Longmont, CO).
