Harriett Eileen Morris

Harriett Eileen Morris of Niwot, Colorado died at her home October 22, 2008. She was 72.Harriett was born on April 1, 1936 in Walker, Iowa to Francis William and Julia Louise (Possehl) Bruce. Harriett graduated from Marion High School, Marion , Iowa and she received her medical training to become a registered nurse in Chicago Ill. She married Jody Lee Morris on January 31, 1958 in Los Angeles, California.Harriett was a nurse at Longmont United Hospital for many years where she retired in August, 1996. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Her favorite activities included traveling, gardening and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her son, Bruce; her husband, Jody; and her parents, Francis and Julia Bruce.Harriett is survived by her daughters: Suzan Gogerty and her husband, Tom, of Greeley; and Debra Morris and her fiancé, Jason White, of Longmont; her sons: Bobby Morris, of Ft. Collins; and TJ Morris and his fiancé, Rachel Riggs of Niwot; five grandchildren: Travis Sutherland, of Longmont; Samantha Sutherland, of Dacono; Joshua Sutherland, of Dacono; Melody Bookless, and her husband Kenny, of Berthoud; and Randi Martinez, and her husband Jesus, of Longmont; six great grandchildren; and a brother, Leonard Bruce, and his wife Joan, of Bettendorf, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28 at Messiah Lutheran Church with Pastor Kent Schnegelberger officiating. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
