
Harry Victor Magnie died February 15, 2014 at the Peaks Care Center in Longmont. He was 94 years old.He was born July 2, 1919 in Denver, CO to Harry S. and Gertrude (Bohlen) Magnie. Harry served in the United States Army from September 1944 to March 1945 when he was Honorably discharged.On June 1, 1941 he married Mary A. Stuart in Denver. Harry farmed from 1945 to 1950. He sold insurance for the Horace Mann Group until 1971. An artisan and craftsman, Harry used is skills for the City and County of Denver Parks and Recreation department until he retired in 1987.During his working career he lived in Denver, moving to Dacono in 1994 and for a short time living in Longmont. He resided in Arvada until moving to Peaks Care Center just a week before his death.Harry was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.He enjoyed doing stained glass art and woodworking. He founded Rocky Mountain Shipwrights and built scale models of ships.He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 2004.Harry is survived by two daughters Carolyn Magnie Shaw and Vicki Clabaugh and 5 grandchildren Amy Neunsinger, Anne Neunsinger, Lizabeth Clabaugh, McAlister Clabaugh and Caroline Clabaugh Sekar.A Celebration of Harry's life will take place at the Ryssby Church 11:00am Saturday June 28, 2014.
