Even in the midst of grief, we can find solace with the bible, and with friends.
 A verse of scripture that has comforted me in times of grief is Psalm 34:18, The lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit.

We still miss Hermman.  He was a special person always smiling.  We have lots of wonderful memories from our visits when he would come to Tennessee.

When talking to him at any occassion, he was always engaged in what you had to say. Not an easy task, with all the distractions of a large family. Dear Family,  We are sad about this news.  How do we express to you the value of his friendship, the memories, the trips to Las Vegas to bowl in tournaments, the golf games. and just plain telephone conversations.   Herm was a perfect example of what a man, a father,grandfather, and a husband should be.   He loved unconditionally and friendships meant everything to him.  Herm knew where is was going and how he was going to get there.   and even though you will not find him at his home address,  he will continue forever to remain alive in our hearts and thoughts.  and yes we will miss him terribly. Kurt and I always enjoyed seeing Herman at the boys' sporting events and Wendys, too. He so loved all his kiddos and we are so sorry for your loss.

Herman was one of my 'boys'. He spent about 7 years of his early life with me. He was a wonderful kid who was loving and respectful and who helped me during a difficult time in my life. The last time I saw him and his brother Elmer was several years ago when they visited me in Ohio. Herman still had that same loving, humble demeanor that he had as a child. I will miss him. Chad, I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your dad.  I have such fond memories of Herman - always with a smile and so kind to all of your friends.  I have no doubt that you treasure all the great memories of your dad and will miss him terribly, but know he is in a better place and is reunited with Clint and all that went before him. Jane and I are saddened at the news of Herm's passing. I'll always remember him for his humor. I remember coming in early one day to hang an Oakland Raiders pennnant in his office. It took him all day but he finally figured out it was me.  I also remember him getting the Broncos to play a benefit basketball game at Niwot high school so the pep squad could travel to a national competitition. 
We've all lost a hero.

Im so blessed...that Herm and Marie crossed my path as I walked through this life. Herm had the ""BEST"" hugs and I never passed on one. Just ask Marie :) He was so wonderfully wonderful and even though I havent seen you all for so very long I have been holding onto all of his hugs and now I know why he was lending them to me... so I send you a huge ""HERM HUG"" and I hope you know how much you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Marie and all of the family at this time.  Herm was a great friend, father and husband.   

Though we haven't seen you all for a while we will never forget all of the great times like Sidney, Nebraska bowling trips and the time we all went to Charlotte, North Carolina to see Dick and Diane.

We are very saddened to hear of Herman's passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Marie, Craig, Chad & the family. I have so many great memories of Herman from playing softball & golf to having him as a mentor, manager & friend at IBM. I caused him some of his first short gray hairs with our 2nd shift R87/R88 ""uniform"" controversy in SJ but he returned the excitement with his ever so slow under hand throws to first base. I can say that Herman was an important part of my life and for that I am grateful.

Sorry to hear my ol' poker buddy has gone to the big table in the sky!!

Have missed his company these last few years, but always thought of him and his struggles.

Herm was a great influence on my years at IBM and was a dear friend in the ""outside"" world. It was enjoyable running the bowling league in SJ with our trip to Tahoe as the ""banquet"".

He might be gone from here, but will always be remembered.

My thought are with the family in these times.
