
A lifetime resident of the Longmont area, Mrs. Bohn was born to Oscar S. Johnson and Alida Anderson Johnson on April 21, 1913 in Rinn, Colorado.
She grew up on the family farm near Longmont and graduated from Longmont High School in 1931 and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. She later obtained her LPN degree from Presbyterian Hospital in June of 1962.
She married C. Robert Bohn on July 1, 1933 in Estes Park and assisted her husband in raising chickens and later operating their dairy farm at 1313 Spruce Avenue in Longmont. After obtaining her LPN degree she worked at Boulder Community Hospital and Longmont United Hospital.
She was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church and participated in various church organizations and other organizations such as PEO, Reach-to-Recovery, sewing club, and HEO. She was also a talented china painter and delighted in giving her dishes to family members and friends. She also collected local artists’ paintings.
Mrs. Bohn was preceded in death by her husband, C. Robert Bohn, who died in 2006, her parents, and a brother Vernon O. Johnson.
She is survived by two sisters, Helen J. Nelson of Longmont and Doris J. Dawson of Stamford, CT.; two daughters Roberta B. Miller and her husband Carroll of Greeley, and Katherine I. O’Donnell of Arvada; a son, Glenn L. Bohn and his wife Lorraine of Anchorage, AK; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Berke officiating.
